Connect Campers originated the idea after the proprietor, Jim Fishwick was camping in his Ford Connect Van in Cornwall, Yorkshire and Norfolk getting many interested campers taking a good look at his conversion.
This then inspired Jim to create an affordable and easy to fit kit to enable others to transform other Ford Connect vans into the fully functional yet compact campervans.
Behind the idea was the practical thought of making it so the campervan could be used as a van during the week and a camper when needed ultimately saving on running two vehicles and getting the best of both
People were astonished by how much was in such a compact vehicle.
There was equipment such as a microwave, electric cooler, vacuum cleaner, portable stove, television, charge points for usb items, 12 volt sockets for awning lights, and of course a double size bed, storage space for all camping essentials including awning, chairs, bedding, a leisure battery and 240v zig unit with a RCD, not forgetting the fire extinguisher.
