Two more Outdoor Shows successfully went ahead

Into September and the ‘new normal’ show season continued with a trip South West to Somerset for the Shepton Mallet Show, followed a week later by the the New Forest Show in Hampshire.
As with the earlier Peterborough and Malvern Shows there were very few actual vehicles for sale following the boom in sales this summer for Motorhomes, Caravans and Campervans.
But there were plenty of accessories at both shows.

Shepton Mallet at the Bath and West Showground

After Thursday night at The Highwayman Brit Stop in Shepton Mallet we pitched up at the show seeing plenty of campers and a shrunken but still worthwhile sized show.

Some highlights:

LNB Towbars were showing their range of towbar mounted bike and scooter racks, trailers, A-frames, levelling systems and more.
The most interesting item on the stand was the new range of Lifos Lithium Power Batteries.
Still more expensive than the traditional Lead Acid variety but at a price getting much closer to them.
They come with a five year guarantee, can be used down to very low levels giving full voltage.
In fact 2750 cycles of full charge to discharge.

Just round the corner we found MapMagic who were offering to increase the power and save on fuel for virtually any motorhome or campervan engine.
So I took them up on it.
For a very reasonable fee, Andy came round to our Euro 6b diesel powered Fiat Ducato based Auto-Trail.
After a while of being hooked up to his laptop our engine was read.
Then an hour later he was back to plug in again and install the new ‘map’
Driving away we had 15% more power and more torque.

The New Forest Show near Brockenhurst
in Hampshire

After seeing plenty of the famous wild ponies in this beautiful National Park we arrived at The New Forest Showground in lovely warm sunshine pitching up our stand near the day visitors entrance.

As with the previous Shows all Covid restrictions were observed and again there was no evening entertainment, but there were several hundred units camping for the weekend. The most I have ever seen at one of these Hampshire Shows.

Similar to all the other shows there were not many motorhomes for sale, but there was a selection of campervans and about 50 Accessory stands.

Some highlights

MB Campers with a good range of Vango inflatable awnings and windbreaks for sale and a massive range of camping accessories to cater for every need.
They sell most of the huge range of products from Seaflo who used to have large marquee stands at the outdoor shows.

South Coast Camper Conversions as well as showing their VW Camper conversions, the highlight was the QUQUQ module.
This is a mini motorhome out of the box – it combines kitchen, bed and storage space in one single box.
QUQUQ was recently featured on BBC’s Travel Show.

Now just a show at Lincoln to go this month and no Big NEC, Birmingham Show next month.
