UK’s Best Campsites Revealed as AA Caravan and Camping Award Winners Announced

The very best spots in the UK for caravanning and camping have been revealed at the AA Caravan and Camping Award ceremony in Stratford-upon-Avon, with winners being announced across twelve categories.

Among those celebrating is Plassey Holiday Park in Eyton, Wrexham, which was crowned AA Campsite of the Year for Wales 2019-20 and Overall Winner of Campsite of the Year.

The 2020 winners also include: Campsite of the Year England: Eye Kettleby Lakes, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire; Campsite of the Year Scotland: Huntly Castle, Huntly, Aberdeenshire; and Holiday Centre of the Year: Hendra Holiday Park, Newquay, Cornwall. Other categories include: Small Campsite of the Year; Most Improved Campsite of the Year; plus five AA regional campsite winners.

The growing popularity of glamping, and the increasing number of luxury options available, has helped to ensure that camping and caravanning sites remain firm family favourites for holiday destinations. More and more sites now provide the likes of luxury yurts and huts in addition to the more traditional family holiday options; these sites are recognised with the Glamping Site of the Year award, which this year went to Llanfair Hall, Dwyran, Isle of Anglesey.
