Covid-19 pandemic leads HERCMA to cancel the 2020 trade and public caravan shows at Harrogate

For the last 44 years, The Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire Caravan Manufacturers’ Association has put on the largest outdoor caravan exhibition in the UK. 

The event, held annually in September, sees the major manufacturers from the industry launching their new season’s models to parks, dealers and distributors from across the UK as well as Europe and even further afield. Alongside the manufacturers, many other companies showcase their latest products and services. 

The trade show is preceded by a public show, giving enthusiasts and others interested their first opportunity to view the latest models, with many holiday parks and accessory suppliers also exhibiting.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, HERCMA has made the difficult decision to cancel this September’s show. Nigel Smailes, the current HERCMA Chairman, said it was really disappointing and it was not a decision taken lightly.

He added: “In light of the current circumstances, we feel we have no choice but to cancel this year’s event. The industry will need time to heal after the pandemic and we hope at this difficult time that everyone stays safe and well. We will announce dates for next year’s events in due course and look forward to seeing everyone there.”
