Lunar Automotive buys Lunar Caravans

After several tumultuous weeks, Lunar Caravans can confirm it will be continuing to operate.

The newly formed company, Lunar Automotive has been set up to acquire the business and assets of Lunar Caravans.

The company promise that all orders are being fulfilled and that Lunar Automotive have acquired the business and assets of Lunar Caravans.

The parent company is MEWA, whose origins are in the South African stainless steel industry in the early 1900s and its pioneer Cecil Marks.

While the new directors do not have experience in the caravan industry, a spokesman stated, “Lunar Automotive has acquired a very experienced caravan manufacturing team whose expertise was instrumental in the decision to invest in the business. The MEWA group has been involved in specialist engineering and component manufacture for 100 years and this experience and capability coupled with the manufacturing expertise acquired with the existing team at Lunar, bodes well for Lunar to not only celebrate its 50th anniversary but to look forward to the next 50 years.”

Production of caravans will begin soon with a full line up of new products to introduce to the public.

Although the company’s initial focus will be on the 2020 caravan production, Motorhomes will continue to be an integral part of the planned range of expanded products.

Generally the Lunar dealer network of approximately 50 sites remains in place.

So, if you are a current Lunar owner and have any questions about after-sales and warranty work, your first point of contact will be your dealer as normal.
